LEGO reopens in Belgrade – we even travelled 379 km to go there
Client: Bravostore, Lego Certified Store
Venue: Belgrade, Serbia
Date: July 2025
Task: The deployment and testing of the IT infrastructure to support the reopening of the Bravostore LEGO Certified Store in Belgrade
A new business, a fresh start – backed by a robust IT infrastructure
The Bravostore LEGO Certified Store in Belgrade has moved to larger premises. The revamped shop was accompanied by a reopening festival, so the on-site IT infrastructure was crucial – not only for day-to-day operations, but also for the successful running of the event.
Our partner, Bravostore, entrusted us with overseeing the implementation of the IT system and putting the finishing touches to it. And we – not for the first time – didn’t let distance stand in our way. The distance between Budapest and Belgrade is 379 km, but when it comes to overseeing the IT set-up of a shop, there’s no question about whether we’ll go.
The on-site task – we needed a system that worked in practice, not just on paper
The physical infrastructure for the network had already been installed at the Belgrade shop. But as is often the case, cables alone do not constitute a system; they merely represent a possibility.
Our colleague travelled there in person to:
🔎 assess the site,
🛠️ check the network that has been set up,
🔌 check the connections,
💻 and commission the equipment, which will be fully operational from the day of the opening.
The aim: a stable, seamless, fully functional system – not just until the ribbon is cut, but every single day.
A project like this is not merely a technical matter
Many people think of IT as something distant and invisible that only comes to the fore when it isn’t working. We see it differently.
Opening a new shop is like a theatre premiere: there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that the audience doesn’t see – but without it, the experience wouldn’t be possible. We were working behind the scenes, and the network, the system and the machines all did their jobs quietly, precisely and reliably.
Summary
✅ The system was ready to reopen
✅ The network operated reliably and was tested at every point
✅ The IT infrastructure supporting the sales processes is now running smoothly
✅ About 10 hours’ driving, waiting at the border, more than 18 hours’ work, Balkan traffic, 750 km there and back? It was absolutely worth it – if it’s LEGO, we’re there
Instead of a closing remark
Opening a new shop isn’t just about the building work – from an IT perspective, we also need to rethink how everything fits together.
It’s a bit like LEGO: lots of tiny pieces that need to be fitted together properly so that, in the end, something functional, timeless and beautiful is created.
(And yes, sometimes you have to be there in person to make sure you don’t miss a single item.). 😉)
