CASE STUDY – IT Tailored for the Race Track

A LEGO Certified Store is setting up shop at the Hungaroring

Client: Bravostore, Lego Certified Store
Venue: Hungaroring, Mogyoród
Date: July 2025
Task: Setting up a mobile sales IT infrastructure in a temporary container-based stand

The challenge

The LEGO team in Hungary took part in a special event at the Hungaroring, where they wanted to run a fully-fledged retail operation from a temporary container shop during the weekend’s event. To do this, they needed an IT infrastructure that:

  • provides reliable internet access despite the large crowds,
  • enables the use of various sales systems,
  • compatible with the existing infrastructure on site,
  • and, last but not least, it can be installed quickly and is reliable.

The solution

Our team ensured that sales operations ran smoothly by taking the following steps:

  1. Provision of equipment

We prepared four fully equipped workstations: computers, monitors, mice and all the necessary peripherals were carefully packed and pre-configured before being sent off to the Hungaroring.

  1. Network expansion

We found a single „ready-to-use” internet connection already set up in the container – we built the local network around this. Using a switch and a wireless access point, we ensured a stable connection for the devices, both wired and wireless.

  1. Installing the software environment

We pre-installed and configured the software required for sales on the computers: an accounting system, remote desktop access, the Office suite and corporate email accounts. The environment set up in this way enabled the on-site team to get to work straight away.

  1. Integration of peripherals

We have also integrated on-site devices into the system, such as Wi-Fi-enabled card terminals, POS terminals, barcode scanners and receipt printers – thereby ensuring fast and seamless payment processes.

  1. Preparation, planning, testing

Even before setting off, we discussed the matter in detail with the client to get a clear picture of what was already available on site and what else would be needed. The team not only selected the necessary equipment but also tested it in advance – thus avoiding any surprises on site.

Result

Upon arriving at the Hungaroring, the LEGO Certified Store team were provided with a fully-fledged, stable IT environment, enabling them to run the weekend’s sales operations smoothly. The system operated reliably from the moment it was switched on; the devices connected reliably to one another and to the internet, and customers were able to purchase their favourite sets without any problems.

And behind the scenes…

The colleagues who arrived on site worked practically as if they were putting together a LEGO set: they knew which IT ‘brick’ to click into place and which piece was the one that This mustn’t be missing from the box. There was one difference, though: in the end, there wasn’t a single mysterious extra part left here. 🙃

And we weren’t about to miss out on having our very own manawize F1 car either…
